The Society of Philosophy and History of Education (SOPHE) is an organization that meets annually to encourage scholarship in the philosophical, historical, and social foundations of education, educational biography, pedagogical praxis, and the education/liberal arts nexus. SOPHE requests argumentative, thesis-driven papers linked to the larger philosophical, historical, and social issues concerning education (including higher education) as a social institution and the connections between education and the liberal arts. Presentations are should be timed to twenty minutes. Panels of three or more should be timed to 50 minutes. Versions of presetations may be submitted to the refereed Jounal of Philosophy and History of Education (JOPHE). The SOPHE website is
