The papers of Dr. Marguerite Cartwright are now open and available to researchers. This manuscripts collection was processed with funding assistance from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC). 

 

Dr. Cartwright's papers chronicle her life as an entertainer, university lecturer and United Nations correspondent for the Pittsburgh Courier. Through her writings and collected research, there are many points of access to this collection for researchers, as reflected in the online finding aid which is linked below. Some of the notable topics covered in this collection include civil rights; racism and discrimination, anti-colonialism in Africa; the founding of the University of Nigeria, and African-Americans culture.
