The Frances S. Summersell Center for the Study of the South and the Charles G. Summersell Chair of Southern History at the University of Alabama are pleased to communicate that they are receiving nominations for the 2021 Summersell Prize for the best book on the history of the American South.

 

The author of the prizewinning book will be awarded a $2500 cash prize and be invited to give an address and meet with faculty and students at the University of Alabama in Spring 2022.

 

Books nominated for the 2021 award must have been published between January 1, 2020 and June 1, 2021. Three copies of each book nominated should be mailed by September 30, 2021 to:
