The deadline for submissions to the 2015 Gulf South History and Humanities Conference has been EXTENDED to August 17, 2015 to allow participants to send submissions as the new academic year gets back into swing.  Come join us for a great program and tours in historic Natchez, Mississippi! The conference will be held October 1-3, 2015 at the Natchez Grand Hotel overlooking the Mississippi River.

In anticipation of the 300th anniversary of the founding of Natchez (1716-2015) we encourage papers about Mississippi, but all topics on the history, ethnography, archaeology, and development of the Gulf South and related Circum-Caribbean are welcome!

Individual Paper: send a title, 150-word abstract, and one page vita

Themed Panel: send a title and 150-word description, a title and abstract for each paper, and list of presenters with vitas

Round Table Forum: send a title, 150-word description, and list of participants with vitas

Send as an MS Word document by email to program chair James Cusick (jgcusick@ufl.edu).  Please put “2015 Gulf South” in email header.  Paper copies can be mailed to James Cusick, Special & Area Studies Collections, George A. Smathers Library, University of Florida, Gainesville FL  32611.  Expect a confirmation email verifying receipt of your submission.
