Dear Colleagues and Fellow Scholars,

It is with great excitement that I announce a Call for Papers for the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA) Annual Conference. Abstracts and Proposals are due by April 15, 2021 and the Conference will be held in Las Vegas, with options for virtual attendance, November 11-14, 2021. I have the honor of serving as Chair and Presiding Officer of the Literature and Religion Panel, a session that offers a unique opportuntiy to showcase interdisciplinary research for the enrichment of scholarship across both fields.

The Literature and Religion Panel welcomes papers on a wide variety of religious and spiritual topics in connection to literature. Given the special conference theme of "City of God, City of Destruction," papers that attempt to engage with this theme in relation to religious topics are particularly welcome. From biblical narratives focused on love, the environment and Empire, to depictions of immortality, there is much to consider and panelists are encouraged to embrace the possibilities of this broad, inclusive topic.

Please submit Abstracts online by April 15.

I look forward to welcoming you to this wonderful community of scholars this Fall.

Thank You!
