eSharp is an international online journal for postgraduate research in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences based at the University of Glasgow. We invite applications from early-career scholars in the Arts & Humanities who are interested in becoming peer reviewers for eSharp’s upcoming Summer 2021 issue on the theme of ‘Boundaries’. We welcome applications from reviewers with interests and background in the areas of: 

  • Theology and Religious Studies, especially dyothelitism, esotericism and theurgy
  • Modernist literature and subjectivity
  • Medieval Scottish and Irish History, especially ecclesiastic communities and relationship to landscape and seascape
  • Early Modern Scottish Literature, particularly women’s writing
  • Refugee and migration studies, especially refugee camps and spatial politics in literature
  • Theatre and performance study, particularly transgression and queer performance
  • Post-colonial and diaspora studies, ethnic and cultural borders, Chinese diaspora
  • Intersections of art and science, new media and bio-art
  • Autobiography and letter writing, particularly with reference to Sylvia Plath
  • Gender and abjection in contemporary literature
  • Racial identity in literature, especially with relation to white-passing
  • Latinx literature and code-switching
  • Period television and televising history
  • Female Science Fiction, especially Arabic narratives, contemporary art and politics

How to apply:

If you are interested in being a reviewer, send a short paragraph of no more than 300 words, including your full name, academic background and affiliations, experience and research areas of interest to esharp@glasgow.ac.uk. Papers will be allocated at the end of March/beginning of April 2021, and you will be expected to submit your review within 2 to 3 weeks. Guidelines for peer-reviewers will be provided.
