The International Sociological Association (ISA) and its Junior Sociologists Network (JSN) have taken a new initiative to consolidate junior sociologists worldwide and to build a global active community of young scholars. At the first stage of this initiative, we are encouraging students who are in the middle of their PhD studies or have completed them in the last 5-6 years to add their doctoral dissertation abstract and short bio to the special open access database on the ISA websiteThe entries are searchable by keywords, author, title, areas of interest, country and supervisor's name. We are also encouraging supervisors to urge their students and former students to post their abstracts.
To increase the visibility of dissertations and to make it easier to discover other scholars who may be working on similar topics, special Facebook page and Twitter account have been launched where abstracts are shared so as to take advantage of the multiplying effect of social networks. You are welcome to join these new media platforms to benefit from being updated on the cutting edge of recent sociological research.
By adding PhD dissertation abstract you will be included in our special global mailing list through which is been occasionally circulated valuable, interesting and useful information for professional development, especially relevant to junior sociologists.
Please feel free to share the information about this initiative, the JSN and our websites, with your colleagues, students and friends. Thank you!
