The Committee on Global Thought (CGT), a distinctive academic program at Columbia University institutionally situated across disciplinary departments and professional schools, invites applications for a position at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline (Fellow in Global Thought)/Senior Lecturer in Discipline (Senior Fellow in Global Thought) to teach in the M.A. Program in Global Thought, including but not limited to the core courses in global political economy and/or global governance, as well as in the undergraduate program. Other responsibilities include research and administrative duties, with emphasis on scholarly development and contribution to the intellectual life of the CGT.
Ph.D. in History, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology preferred. Candidates should be comfortable teaching and working in an interdisciplinary environment and interested in approaching subjects in global context. Ph.D. must be in hand by the appointment start date, and teaching experience is required. This position, which will begin on July 1, 2021, is a full-time, multi-year appointment with renewal contingent on satisfactory performance.
