Over the four week course with award winning illustrator Erin Ellis you'll create enough bird drawings to fill the trees and sky!

Inspired by bird artwork in Morven's latest exhibition, In Nature's Realm, The Art of Gerard Rutgers Hardenbergh, award-winning illustrator Erin Ellis teaches how to capture the form and feeling of the beautiful birds living in New Jersey.

Over the four week course you'll create enough bird drawings to fill the trees and sky! Learn key anatomical details and foundational shapes to help you draw birds accurately in the field or at home.

Studying birds from the front, side, and 3/4 view, we will render colorful songbirds, learn tricks to show the shape of long legs and necks on herons, egrets, and shorebirds, and study the way that feather groups overlap to simplify plumage and sketch perched raptors.

All levels are welcome. Materials list and Zoom link provided upon registration. All classes will be recorded for later viewing.
