Dear colleagues,

I'm organising a workshop which might be of interest to H-Net networks and members. See below for the announcement and Call for Papers.

Rewiring the House of God:
Religious Self-World Relations in the Digital Environment

(authors workshop organised by Fouad Gehad Marei and Gabriel Malli)

deadline for applications: 1st of March 2021

We invite applications for the online authors’ workshop, Rewiring the House of God: Religious Self-World Relations in the Digital Environment (iFaith). The workshop is a collaboration between the University of Erfurt (Germany) and the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom).

We are interested in scholarly contributions that interrogate the relationship between digital technologies and religious life-worlds. Pre-circulated papers will be workshopped by experts in the fields of digital religion and mediatization. The intention of the workshop is to prepare a manuscript of a special issue for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. We understand ‘religion’ broadly and welcome contributions examining different religious traditions. Scholars of all career levels and disciplinary and interdisciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Deadline for applications is the 1st of March. Applications should include the full title of your paper, an abstract of 350 words, six keywords describing the research, and the names and affiliations of the author(s). Contributions must be original works not previously published or under consideration for publication.

The workshop will take place online on 15th—17th September 2021. The working language of the workshop is English and the prospective publication will be an English-language publication. If needed, language editing and translation can be provided.

Inquiries and applications should be sent to
