The role of normal, healthy aging on human cognition has become an area of important research in both cognitive psychology and neuroscience. Research has shown promise for the use of various technologies to slow down normal cognitive decline and improve daily life as we age, and more and more older adults are embracing this new technology in multiple aspects of their lives. Of particular interest when incorporating new technology in aging populations is the usability and interaction between the user and the device.
We invite chapter proposals that explore the role of technology in the assessment of cognition in aging populations and the challenges involved in the design and implementation of such technology. Of particular importance will be chapters focusing on the human factors involved in aging populations interacting with new devices and software.
We welcome articles from a wide range of topics, including virtual reality, serious gaming, app development, computerized testing, and real-world integration for improving cognitive performance or slowing normal decline. We are interested in how both established and emerging technology can be used to improve the lives of people during normal, healthy aging and the unique challenges involved.
How to Submit Your Proposal
- Chapter proposals (max 500 words) and a short biography (max 100 words) are due on March 1, 2021, and should be sent to the editor, Branden Kolarik (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- A notice of accepted abstracts will be sent to selected authors in mid-March 2021.
- Full chapters (max 10,000 words) will be due on August 1, 2021.
