The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s Art of the Islamic Worlds’ department would like to announce the launch of a new exhibition, Between Sea and Sky: Blue-and-White Ceramics from Persia and Beyond. This exhibition explores for the first time the enduring appeal of blue-and-white ceramics across the globe as seen in all of the MFAH collections. The story of blue-and-white is presented through the lens of the exceptional Hossein Afshar Collection of Persian ceramics on long-term loan to the MFAH. These ceramics – exhibited here together for the first time - open the door to a new and more nuanced understanding of the monumental contribution of Persian blue-and-white to the world history of ceramics.

While at the MFAH, please visit the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building, Houston’s newest cultural landmark. The third gallery building of the MFAH, the 237,000-square foot Kinder Building is dedicated for the display of the Museum’s outstanding and fast-growing international collections of modern and contemporary art.
