Call for Pakistani Stories: Fiction and Creative Nonfiction
Deadline: January 15, 2021
If you have a compelling story about Pakistan and you want to have it published in an upcoming anthology, we are reading submissions. The working title of this debut anthology is Narrating Pakistan and it will be published by the University of Lahore. The university seeks to showcase peculiar and groundbreaking stories about Pakistan. We particularly hope to promote fresh and upcoming writers who are writing outside and in defiance of the local and the western canon. We are looking for stories from and about small towns and major cities, about environment and identity, about gender and race and desire, about the spectacular and the banal. We have no specific tropes in mind, no agendas, except to promote authentic and raw voices. You don’t need to write back to the empire or any oppressor. Just write for yourself, if you have something to say.
