This conference has now a new format: the dates for the event have been postponed to March 17-19, 2021; it will be organized in a context of hybridity, bringing together people who will be able to attend in person at the Orient Museum in Lisboa with those who will follow and intervene in the sessions from their computers in their places of origin; and it will receive proposals for new communications (until December 1st, 2020) as well as applications to join the event in Lisboa until January 7, 2021 (registration is free but subject to the capacity of the room which will be adjusted to the pandemic situation).
The organizers wish to call for contributions to this conference from scholars, actors of the process, activists and other citizens interested in the history of the self-determination of Timor-Leste. The conference will look at three different aspects: the Resistance and its various components; diplomatic efforts of different countries involved in the process; and the solidarity movements that spread all over the world. Perspectives on actors, networks, institutions and strategies are welcome.
Working languages: Portuguese and English. For other languages, please contact the organizers
