2021 American Conference for Irish Studies

2-5 June 2021, Derry, Northern Ireland

As we mark 1500 years since the birth of Colm Cille (St Columba), we are delighted to invite Irish Studies scholars to gather in Derry, the ancient walled city and homeplace of peace-maker John Hume to reflect on the themes of Heritage, Healing and Home.

In these times, the conference will be a hybrid event with options for in-person attendance (local and international rules and regulations allowing) or virtual attendance. Conference events will include performances by local artists and physical or virtual tours of local landmarks and cultural institutions.

From where the Wild Atlantic Way meets the Causeway Coast, we issue a transatlantic call for papers and panel proposals in all areas of Irish Studies, with particular interest in topics related to 2021 ACIS' themes Heritage, Healing and Home.

Individual papers and panel submissions (3-4 participants) are welcomed, as are proposals for presentations in non-traditional formats such as roundtables (up to 5 presenters).

For further details and paper submission portals, please visit the conference website: https://www.acis2021.com/call-for-papers

Submission Deadline: 15th December 2020, 5 PM (GMT)
