The History Graduate Student Association at Louisiana State University is pleased to announce its twelfth annual Graduate History Conference, scheduled for March 5-6, 2021. The conference, which will take place online this year due to concerns over COVID-19, allows graduate students to present their original and ongoing work in a professional environment and to receive feedback from their peers and experts within their field.

As a graduate organization, we wish to connect with our fellow graduate students by sharing historical perspectives across departments and programs. We invite submissions for individual papers and panels from graduate students at all levels and departments. This year, we are extending an invitation to some undergraduate students, as well, who have begun particularly rigorous independent research. Proposals may cover all fields and approaches of historical scholarship and span all chronological and geographical boundaries.

For this conference, we will host a series of professional development panels featuring professional historians discussing topics on “Life in Academia,” “Life Outside of Academia,” and “History in Chaotic Times.” We hope that these panels will all be useful to students considering life after graduation and the state of the field in these turbulent times.
