On Friday, October 9 at 4PM EST the Society of Civil War Historians graduate Connections Committee, along with the Early Career Committee and members of the Outreach Committee, will hold a feedback session for current and recent PhD students, Early Career historians, as well as individuals in non-academic or contingent positions, with the goal of learning how the society might better meet the needs of the next generation of Civil War historians, especially with regard to career preparation, the job market, networking, professionalization, and personal difficulties, whether family or financial.

We want to hear from graduate students and members who have recently received their PhDs, or are in the early stages of their careers during an informal "talk-back" session. We will report on this session to the advisory board and president of the society.
