This year the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies once again offers travel assistance of up to $1000 to scholars who plan to present research that concerns any aspect of the historic relationship between the United States and Austria, including the historical Habsburg Empire, at the annual Austria Studies Association conference.

Research that explores the transatlantic exchange between the two countries in any academic discipline, including history, political science, economics, law, and cultural studies, will be considered.

Requests for travel assistance are welcome from scholars working in diverse professional settings, including community colleges, museums, and public archives. Applicants should be based in North America or Europe and may be at any stage in their professional career.

The Austrian Studies Association will administer the travel assistance in the form of reimbursement. To apply, you need only to send your submitted ASA conference abstract to Gregor Thuswaldner (gthuswaldner@whitworth.edu), together with an estimate of the travel expense. Grants will be announced shortly after conference organizers have dispatched acceptance notices.
