One Day international Web- Symposium on , " Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic  among Women of South Asia". The date has been postponed. The new date is on 8th August 2020.
Covid-19 affected people in diverse ways. However it’s impact on marginalized sections, especially women, has been on several fronts. Across the world, the pandemic has been declared a disaster for gender justice. It has exposed the existing inequalities and even to some extent, further deepened them. Women are now at greater risk from the health perspective, it increases their vulnerability to experience exploitation and abuse at family. Visible and invisible wounds of exploitation and abuse remain with women throughout their lives. As we stand in the middle of this historic inflection point, our collective response must be equally historic and urgent as far as women are concerned. The aim of this Symposium is to focus on South Asian women, their issues in general and how the pandemic deepened their pre-existing inequalities and exposed gaps in our systems, amplifying the effects of the pandemic.
