Dear Colleagues,

We welcome contributions, especially from colleagues in Africa and the African diaspora for the African Textiles issue of The Textile Museum Journal, a peer-reviewed annual journal published by the George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum. We are seeking manuscripts for the 2021 volume to be devoted to new research on “African Textiles.” The volume, guest edited by Sarah Fee, curator, Eastern Hemisphere Textiles and Fashion, Royal Ontario Museum, will be interdisciplinary. We encourage submissions examining any aspect of African textiles from all historic (pre-historic) periods and geographic regions.

The Textile Museum Journal now appears in print and in digital version with full color. The digital format allows the incorporation of other media, such as video and sound. We encourage authors to consider incorporating those formats to their articles. Articles for the journal typically range in length from 5,000 to 10,000 words, with no limit on the number of illustrations. The articles due on August 31, 2020, with final acceptance subject to double-blind peer review. For submissions, more information or questions please contact The Textile Museum Journal editorial team at tmjournal@gwu.edu or check https://museum.gwu.edu/tmjournal.
