Re: Extended Deadline 24 April: Words, Music and Marginalisation, University of St Andrews, 1-3 September 2020

Dear colleagues,

Many thanks to those of you who have already sent abstracts through for our conference Words, Music and Marginalisation with the WMA Forum in St Andrews in September 2020.

We appreciate that everyone is operating in a state of uncertainty, and with many more personal, professional and family demands on their time than usual. It is impossible at this stage to predict what travel will look like in September, but we recognise that colleagues are not comfortable making arrangements for future travel until things become clearer.

For this reason, we are announcing that the conference will be conducted as an online symposium. Please bear with us as we consult and decide on what formats this might take.

In the meantime, we would like to extend the deadline for abstracts to 24 April, so please do still consider sending in proposals, and we will be in touch about arrangements in due course. As a reminder, you can find the call for papers on our website here: https://wmaf2020.wordpress.com/.

We hope that everyone is taking care of themselves at this time, which can be particularly difficult for doctoral researchers and early career researchers.

With solidarity and best wishes,

Tom Smith (Conference Organiser)

Alexandra Reznik (WMAF President)
