LATIN AMERICA IN THE MUSEUM. EVENT RESCHEDULED AND DEADLINE EXTENDED TO NOVEMBER 1, 2020
How is Latin America made present and absent in the curated world of the museum?
How has the play of presence and absence varied by museum, and across time and space?
Do the histories of curating and effacing Latin Americana differ notably from those of Europe, Asia and Africa?
We invite papers that critically address these and related questions across the entire range of museums, expositions and galleries anywhere in the world, including but not limited to Universal Museums and Expositions, Art and Design Museums and Galleries, Anthropology and Archaeology Museums, Natural History Museums and Science Museums, Biennales, etc. Historical, ethnographic, and museological approaches to these questions are most welcome.
The keynote speaker will be Professor Irina Podgorny of the Museo de la Plata and CONICET, Argentina.
