Left History is a peer reviewed scholarly journal published bi-annually out of York University, with an editorial board of prominent left historians. We feature articles and reviews from both established and early-career scholars.
Left History invites original submissions on a wide range of topics for our Summer 2020 issue. Left History regularly includes articles from a variety of academic disciplines, politicl perspectives, and theoretical approaches, on topics including race, politics, gender, sexuality, culture, the state, labour, the environment, human rights, theory, and methodology. Given the current global crisis, our recommended deadline for publication in our Summer 2020 issue has been moved to May 15th, 2020.
Article length should range between 6,000—10,000 words (not including citations), or around 20—35 double-spaced pages. Please contact the editors if you would like to submit a longer piece. Please submit an electronic version of your manuscript as a Word.docx file, and include a brief abstract, not exceeding 250 words.
We ask that authors do not simultaneously submit their articles to more than on journal. Please ensure copyright laws are followed when including images.
