The Center for History and Culture of Southeast Texas and the Upper Gulf Coast at Lamar University invites applications for research and creative fellowships for the 2020-2021 academic year. Our center supports the creation, preservation, and transmission of knowledge about all aspects of life in Southeast Texas and along the Gulf Coast between Corpus Christi and Pensacola. Each year we award up to three $5000 fellowships to scholars, authors, and artists who have made or are making contributions to the broader understanding of our region. This funding is meant to support fellows for up to one academic semester (approximately 3 months) as they pursue their research or creative agenda. We encourage applications from any discipline and are especially interested in projects that consider our core geographic region within broader national, hemispheric, or global frameworks. More information about the fellowships, including how to apply, can be found on our website. The deadline for completed applications is April 1, 2020.
