Location:

Subject Fields:
American History / Studies, Religious Studies and Theology

The Religion in the American West group seeks proposals for a meeting occurring adjacent to the American Academy of Religion Annual Meeting in Boston. We seek paper proposals that forefront the various networks… railroads, irrigation ditches, Silicon Valley, missionary circuits, etc,… that create a connected, transnational, globalized West while impacting the places in which the networks reside. We seek full papers that will be pre-circulated in advance of the meeting.  We will gather during the AAR in a conference room to discuss the papers, as well as religion in the American West more broadly. Please share widely and join us in Boston!

Details: Boston, November 21-22, adjacent to the American Academy of Religion Annual Meeting. Exact date and time TBD.

Paper Proposals are due May 1 and should be sent to relamwest@gmail.com. Proposals should include a 150 word abstract and should not exceed 1000 words. Please include your name and rank (early graduate student, ABD, contingent faculty, tenured, etc.), as we hope to create a multi-stage conversation. Direct all questions to Dr. Brandi Denison and Dr. Brennan Keegan (bdenison@unf.edu and bkeegan@randolphcollege.edu).
