We’d like to introduce you to a new journal in Central Asian Studies, Acta Via Serica.  Our new management team would like to make Acta Via Serica a leading academic outlet for research in Central Asia and hope that you and your colleagues might consider publishing with us in the future.

Founded in 2016, Acta Via Serica is sponsored by Keimyung University in Daegu, South Korea and financially backed by the local government of North Kyungsang Province, with the goal of deepening understanding in Central Asia and the Silk Road’s critical role in the exchange of ideas between East and West.  We have high goals for Acta Via Serica, and are working hard to attain inclusion in the SCCI and A&HCI academic indices.

We seek to attract quality manuscripts and provide an honorarium of at least W400,000 (US$340) per published article.  Each issue the Editorial Board votes to determine the most outstanding article, which is rewarded with a prize of W1,000,000 (US$845).  We also provide an honorarium of W100,000 (US$84) to outside referees who participate in the double-blind peer review process and W100,000 (US$84) for authors who publish book reviews with Acta Via Serica.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Acta Via Serica (www.actaviaserica.org) or might be interested in refereeing a paper in the future.

Sincerely,

James C. Schopf

Associate Editor, Acta Via Serica
