The 70th annual meeting of the New York State Association of European Historians will be held at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. on October 23-24, 2020. The conference begins on Friday evening with a social gathering, dinner, and the plenary lecture; paper panels are on Saturday.
The Association encourages submissions that touch upon all aspects of European history, and we particularly welcome papers that connect Europe with wider global perspectives. In addition to traditional academic papers, we are also interested in individual or full session proposals that address issues in pedagogy. We have also had members bring groups of their advanced undergraduate students both to observe and to present their work and welcome proposals for student sessions. The Association prides itself on providing a welcoming and collegial atmosphere at the conference, and we very strongly encourage graduate students and independent scholars to submit proposals, including papers based on work(s)-in-progress.
Proposals for papers and/or panels should include a 100-150 word abstract for each paper. Email proposals to NYSAEH president, David A. Valone (david.valone@qu.edu) by June 1, 2020. Please include a brief c.v. with your proposal.
The New York State Association of European Historians is a regional historical association that welcomes innovative ideas and presentations. Our members are drawn from across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Le Moyne is located just east of downtown Syracuse less than twenty minutes from Syracuse International Airport and within about three hours drive from Buffalo, Albany, and Ottawa.
