Asclepio. Journal of the History of Medicine and Science.

Special Issue: “Exploring the historical links between medicine, science, and art".

 

Asclepio. Revista de Historia de la Medicina y de la Ciencia was born in 1948 under the title Archivo Iberoamericano de Historia de la Medicina y Antropología Médica.

Asclepio publishes original papers on the history of science echoing the various historiographic trends in this field of study. It is particularly oriented to Spanish, European, and Latin American science, aiming to an audience specialized in the history of science, but also to variously educated scientists who may find in history elements for epistemological and social reflection in their scientific work.

Asclepio is covered by Web of ScienceArts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI), SCOPUSPubMedCWTS Leiden Ranking (Journal indicators), ERIH PlusREDIBDOAJ and other international databases of relevance.

 

We are now accepting contributions for a special issue on the historical links between science and art.

The papers must be unpublished and have a maximum of 8500 words, including text, images and footnotes. The rules for authors can be read on the journal's website:

For the reception of proposals, an abstract (250 words) and a short CV (1 page) provided by contact details must be sent to:

The proposals, without necessarily being limited to them, are suggested to follow any of these topics of research:

- Science, art and creativity

- Scientific illustration (medical treatises, cartography, atlas, entomology, anatomy, etc.)

- Epistemologies of domination and visuality

- Image deconstruction and decolonization of scientific knowledge

- Art-Science collaborations

- Visual perspectives on science, gender and power

 

The closing date for the reception of proposals is December 10, 2019.

Asclepio. Revista de Historia de la Medicina y de la Ciencia

Número especial: "Explorando los vínculos históricos entre medicina, ciencia y arte".

 

Asclepio. Revista de Historia de la Medicina y de la Ciencia, nació en 1948 con el título Archivo Iberoamericano de Historia de la Medicina y Antropología Médica. Consagrada especialmente a la ciencia española, europea e iberoamericana, Asclepio publica artículos originales sobre historia de la ciencia, haciéndose eco de las diversas corrientes historiográficas de la disciplina. Con una periodicidad semestral está dirigida a un público especializado en historia de la ciencia, pero también a científicos de diversa formación que puedan encontrar en la historia elementos de reflexión epistemológica y social en su quehacer profesional.

Está indexada en Web of ScienceArts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI), SCOPUSPubMedCWTS Leiden Ranking (Journal indicators), ERIH PlusREDIBDOAJ y otras bases de datos internacionales de relevancia.

 

Buscamos contribuciones para la propuesta de un número especial sobre los vínculos históricos entre ciencia y arte. 

Los textos deberán ser inéditos y contar con un máximo de 8500 palabras, incluyendo texto, pies de imagen y notas a pie de página. En la web de la revista se pueden leer las normas para autores:

Se sugiere que la temática de las propuestas, sin estar necesariamente limitada a ellas, siga alguna de estas líneas de investigación:

- Ciencia, arte y creatividad

- Ilustración científica (tratados médicos, cartografía, atlas, entomología, anatomía, etc.)

- Epistemologías de la dominación y su visualidad

- Deconstrucción de la imagen y decolonización del conocimiento cientíco

- Colaboraciones Arte-Ciencia

- Perspectivas visuales sobre ciencia, género y poder

 

La fecha de cierre para la recepción de propuestas es el 10 de diciembre de 2019.
