POPULAR CULTURE ASSOCIATION 2019 NATIONAL CONFERENCE

DEADLINE:  NOVEMBER 1, 2019

 

We are considering proposals for sessions organized around a theme, special panels, and individual papers.  Sessions are scheduled in 1½ hour slots, typically with four papers or speakers per standard session.  Presentations should not exceed 15 minutes.  As always, proposals addressing any topic at the intersection of culture and queerness are welcome.

 

This year, we are especially eager to receive proposals concerning the future of LGBTQ rights, queer people and politics (particularly the 2020 U.S. elections), and queer representation in media and the press.

To submit your panel or presentation, go to http://conference.pcaaca.org and follow the instructions for creating an account and making your submission.  ALL submissions must be made through the conference submission site.  For individual papers, please submit a title and 100-word abstract.  For themed paper sessions, each presenter must enter her/his own presentation and the chair should contact Professor Drushel to assemble them into a panel.  You should also contact Professor Drushel for help in submitting roundtable discussions.

 

Refund Policy:  Membership fees are not refundable.  Requests for refund of conference registration must be submitted in writing. Full or partial refunds will be processed according to the following schedule (no refunds after February 1):

 

Requested by January 1: 100% refund

Requested by January 15: 75% refund

Requested by January 25: 50% refund

Requested by February 1: 25% refund
