Decentering the Human - Why/Because Object-Oriented Ontology (OOO)

The book will be the first italin pubblication on the topic of Object-Oriented Ontology (OOO). It will present and discuss the main OOO claims and positions within the contemporary philosophical debates. Any contribution which involves a critical assessment of OOO will be evaluated.

Possible topics:

  • Anti-mining: undermining, overmining, duomining;
  • Withdrawal: real object vs. sensual object;
  • Flatness: liberal vs. egualitarian perspective
  • Vicarious causation: panpsychism vs. polypsichism;
  • Subscendence in mereological relations;
  • OOO between Speculative Realism and New Materialism;
  • OOO and Ecology: global warming, biodiversity, catastrophe;
  • OOO and Media Theory: apparatus, screen, Internet of Things (IoT);
  • OOO and symbolic crisis: paleo-ontology, symbiosis, homeotechnology;
  • OOO, contemporary art and aesthetics as first philosophy;
  • OOO and the heritage of classical metaphisics (substance);
  • OOO ant the heritage of phenomenology (intentional object)
  • OOO between Post-Human and Anthropocene
  • OOO within the contemporary ontological debate (post-continental as well as post-analytical)
