Position: Full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor to begin Fall 2020.

The State University of New York College at Cortland History Department welcomes applications from candidates with specialty in Ancient Mediterranean World who will contribute to the department’s expanding global and transnational curriculum. In addition to offering upper-level undergraduate and graduate (M.A.) history courses in their area of specialty, the successful candidate will have opportunities to teach the introductory “World to 1500” course, historical methods, and research seminars for advanced undergraduates.


Required Qualifications: Ph. D. required by date of appointment.
Preferred qualifications: The department seeks candidates with the knowledge, skills and abilities to help SUNY Cortland fulfill its commitment to diversity and inclusion. The Search Committee will begin reviewing applications on November 4.
