CFP: Architecture, Agriculture and Agency

From the impact of wheat surplus accumulation in shaping statecraft in modern India to the reappropriation of sugar fields by Cuban and Dominican laborers for Santeria practices in the early twentieth-century, this panel brings together studies of human and more-than-human agency at the conjunction of agricultural and architectural cultivation.

We invite work emerging from the meeting of agriculture, architecture, and agency for a panel we're proposing for the 2020 Agricultural History Society Annual Meeting. Now accepting 200 word abstracts that focus on agriculture, agency and the built environment in the 19th and 20th centuries. All geographic regions are welcome.

Abstracts Due by October 5th.
