The Alpha Kappa chapter of Phi Alpha Theta at the University of Toledo invites advanced undergraduate students and graduate students to participate in an all-day colloquium at the University of Toledo. The goal of the colloquium is discussion and peer review of research in progress for capstone projects, senior theses, Master’s theses, and Doctoral dissertations relating to the field of history. 

 

The colloquium will consist of appropriately themed panels running consecutively. Each panelist will present a brief, ten-to-fifteen-minute overview of his or her paper.  Panelists may have visual aids such as a PowerPoint or a poster. A moderator will facilitate discussion after the entirety of the panel has presented. 

 

Panelists may submit abstracts on any historical subject matter, time period, or geographical location. Please send a one-page abstract to the Phi Alpha Theta – Alpha Kappa Chapter email at phialphatheta.utoledo@gmail.com no later than Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Be sure to include your name, presentation title, institution, and contact information.

 

Upon receiving the abstracts, the Phi Alpha Theta – Alpha Kappa Chapter program committee will review submissions and determine panels. Panelists will be notified of their acceptance to the colloquium by Friday, October 11, 2019. Further instruction will follow soon after.
