Context:
This is an age in which Donald Trump promises investment in infrastructure, China continues to urbanize and pollute, global cities can be surrounded by slums and in many cities housing is unaffordable as a place of living while it functions as a major form of capital investment.
The issues of living in the United States are clearly more than just questions of the buildings we construct; the houses we make or the roads we build. It is a complex social, demographic and cultural matrix.
This interdisciplinary conference explores this complexity and contradiction by seeking critique and multiple perspectives from several disciplines: sociology, human geography, architecture, landscape, urban design and more.

Publications:
The conference will lead to journal articles with Architecture_MPS, a proceedings publication with its own ISSN and book publications (see PARADE below).
