Thanks to generous support from the Kenney estate, the New Netherland Institute is offering, for the first time in 2019, the Alice P. Kenney Travel Scholarship, which will help cover travel costs for "students" to attend our 42nd Annual Conference at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 5. Current enrollment in an academic program is not required.

The purpose of the award is to support the travel of scholars at the early stage of their career who have an interest in New Netherland. A recent graduate who is considering graduate school, for example, is eligible. The definition of student is at the discretion of the committee.

To apply, please send a one-page explanation of how attendance at the conference will help your development as a scholar to grants@newnetherlandinstitute.org along with a rough travel budget. If your travel is minimal, do not hesitate to apply for funds to cover only the cost of conference registration.

Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis, with the first review of applications on July 15.
