African Yearbook of Rhetoric (AYOR) 2019

The Editor-in-Chief of the African Yearbook of Rhetoric (AYOR), Distinguished Professor Philippe-Joseph Salazar, and the Guest Editor of the AYOR 2019, Prof Jaco Barnard-Naudé, are pleased to announce that the forthcoming issue will be published between September and November 2019. The theme of AYOR 2019 is: 'Styles of Law, Styles of Rhetoric: Badiou et al on Salus Populi'. The AYOR is a multi-lingual, peer-reviewed scholarly journal devoted to the development of rhetoric studies on, and in Africa. Previous issues are available at: or via the Sabinet platform. This year, AYOR will include contributions from eminent rhetoricians across the North-South divide, including the English translation of an as yet unpublished text by Professor Alain Badiou, entitled 'Lessons from the "Yellow Vest" Movement'.
