The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) – represented by the Academic Advisory Board of the Sponsorship Prize for Military History and the History of Military Technology – is organising a colloquium on military history from 28 to 29 November 2019 at the University of Potsdam in cooperation with the University of Potsdam, the Working Group for Military History, the Working Group for the Military and Society in the Early Modern Period and the Centre for Military History and Social Sciences of the Bundeswehr, Potsdam. The colloquium is aimed specifically at doctoral students. They are hereby provided with an opportunity to discuss their research with an international and interdisciplinary audience transcending historical boundaries. The conference languages are German and English. The event is open to all methodological, thematic and temporal perspectives, ranging from ancient times to the contemporary world.

Travel and overnight costs incurred by speakers (second-class rail tickets) will be reimbursed by the organisers. Please send a brief outline (one page) of the presentation topic and a short CV by 30 June 2019 via e-mail to the following address:
