The Berlin-based Forum Transregionale Studien invites scholars to apply for up to 3 visiting fellowships for 3-months in Berlin in the period from October 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020 within the framework of the research program

PRISMA UKRAÏNA – Research Network Eastern Europe

Ukraine is a “Gate of Europe” located at the crossroads of languages, religions and political cultures. In this program Ukraine serves as a prism through which new perspectives on current questions become possible. In the coming academic year the following research issues are of particular interest to us:

(1) genealogy and change of political ideas and identities,

(2) mobility and immobility, diversity and inequality.

FELLOWSHIP

The fellowship is open to postdoc scholars from all fields of social sciences and humanities, as well as to authors, journalists and civil society activists who want to carry out their research projects in connection with the PRISMA UKRAÏNA program.

We welcome project proposals on contemporary and historical topics related to Eastern and Central Europe (broadly defined).

The successful applicants will be fellows of PRISMA UKRAÏNA at the Forum Transregionale Studien, and associated members of one of the university or non-university research institutes listed below.

The 3-month fellowship can start anytime between October 1, 2019 and May 1, 2020. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of 2.500 € plus supplement depending on his or her personal situation. Organisational support regarding visa, insurances, housing, etc. will be provided. The fellows are obliged to work in Berlin and to help shape the seminars and working discussions related to his or her research field. Scholars are also invited to apply with their own funding.

The working language of PRISMA UKRAÏNA is English.
