Modern Intellectual History Post-Doctoral Fellow
Call for Applications:
The Department of History at Dartmouth College seeks to appoint a Modern Intellectual History Post-Doctoral Fellow for a three-year term beginning September 1, 2019. The successful applicant will combine a teaching assignment (typically offering two courses every four-term year) with the part-time duties of Managing Editor for the journal Modern Intellectual History. Research support is provided for this position, which is one of a growing number of Dartmouth-based post-doctoral opportunities.
Responsibilities for the journal include: managing manuscript submissions; corresponding with authors, editors, and the publisher; maintaining basic records and a small budget; light copy-editing; and carrying out publicity on social media. Although prior publishing experience is welcome, it is not a pre-requisite. The historian’s area of specialization is open, but should be anchored in the cultural and intellectual history of the modern period, spanning roughly the mid-17th century to the present. The position is a Dartmouth College benefits-eligible position and the annual salary is competitive. To apply for this fellowship, please submit a letter of interest, including a description of research and teaching interests, to Modern.Intellectual.History.Journal@dartmouth.edu by May 8, 2019.
