Of the trip, past participants have said:

“Getting to meet others in my field and presenting my research at Tel Aviv University has been integral to my growth as a scholar and an educator. Learning about and engaging with all that Israel has to offer has been life-changing, and I aim to inject my studies and my teaching with the excitement and curiosity I have felt during this trip.”

“The visit to Israel has been both memorable and inspiring… I must say that the Children’s Memorial (at Yad Vashem) was the most powerful for me. The combination of the voices reading the names and the candle flames, which almost seemed like stars, is something I will not soon forget. I went back a second time and imagine making the journey again.”

“As a Holocaust educator, it has meant so much to me to see Israel and to understand more fully the importance of the Jewish state in the aftermath of the Holocaust.”

“Your generosity and your conviction that Holocaust scholars and educators must see places of importance in Israel and Eastern Europe has helped me personally, and it has impacted my students, as well.”

“Participating in the Israel Study Tour was an opportunity of a lifetime and I am lucky to have been part of such a great group of Holocaust scholars and students….Thank you for this opportunity, which commits us, the recipients, to honoring your legacy by supporting those coming behind us and providing them similar opportunities.”

“The opportunity you presented outfitted me with new experiences and new knowledge that I will use in the History of the Holocaust course that I teach….I have benefited enormously from HEF.  So too have scores of other professors and by extension our thousands of students.”
