Hello colleagues,

I am looking for one more paper for a panel at the 2019 American Society for Ethnohistory Conference September 25-29th at Penn State University in State College, PA.

The panel will be focusing on medicine, medical experiments, and eugenics in 20th Century Latin America. My paper tentatively will be looking at the Guatemalan Syphilis Experiment (1946-1948) performed by US doctor Dr. John Culter who later worked on the Tuskegee experiment. The second paper will be focusing on the Eugenics movements in Mexico, Brazil, Cuba, and the US. We invite papers that overlap with the History of Medicine and Medical Experimentation with transnational connections to the US and Latin America.
