Saint Mary’s College of California is hosting the annual conference for Asian Studies on the Pacific Coast (ASPAC) this coming summer from June 7-9. The 2019 conference theme is Reimagining Asia: Innovation and Reflection

Saint Mary’s College of California is conveniently located in the Moraga hills of the Bay Area with easy access to Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, and other Bay Area destinations.

ASPAC is a regional affiliate of the Association for Asian Studies (AAS), the national association of professionals, primarily academic, interested in Asian Studies. Members come to the ASPAC Conference from the West coast of the United States of America, as well as from Canada, Mexico, and most of the countries/areas of the Pacific region including: China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, India, and more. We accept standard panels as well as proposals for round tables, workshops, poster and visual displays, and individual papers.

This is a great venue for graduate students to present their research on Asia from any discipline. We also are particularly interested in panels and papers on Public History and innovations in approaching the study of Asia and its diasporas in K-12 education. Please create panels with your graduate students or encourage them to create their own.
