THE JOURNAL OF HISPANIC AND LUSOPHONE WHITENESS STUDIES (HLWS) is an open access, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal and is published annually. HLWS accepts submissions year-round on a rolling basis. The Journal promotes the research on non-Anglocentric Studies of Whiteness in the Lusophone, Hispanic (Iberian, Latin American, Caribbean, U.S. Latino/a, Afro-Hispanic Studies, including North African, the Western Saharan and Equatorial Guinean) cultural productions from any period.

HLWS invites submissions of original, unpublished essays and book reviews in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Although the Journal is mostly devoted to literature, film, and cultural studies, the journal will consider critical theory-based essays that rethink well-established white racial formation theories.

See full call for submissions including aims and scope in English, Spanish and Portuguese here: https://www.academia.edu/37998667/CFP_The_Journal_of_Hispanic_and_Lusoph...

Deadline for current issue: May 15, 2019.
