Greetings Colleagues-

We are seeking one or two individuals to join an AHA 2020 roundtable on teaching historical methods at the undergraduate level using hands-on archival practices. This could be in a physical (in the archives) or digital manner; however, we want to focus this roundtable on the mechanics of teaching. Our collaborative effort - immersing Xavier University students in the archives at the Historic New Orleans Collection for an entire semester - has yielded many positive results, although also continues to present challenges as to how best to teach the skills of research to first and second year undergraduates. We are very interested in finding others who have worked in a similar way to impart these skills, particularly through diverse collaborations and arrangements with archives, be they physical or digital. If you are interested in joining us, please send an email with a brief description of your course project and a short bio by February 10, 2019 to Elizabeth Manley at emanley1@xula.edu.

Many thanks in advance!
