Melvin E. Bradford Dissertation Prize in Southern Studies
The St. George Tucker Society, an interdisciplinary scholarly organization dedicated to the study of the American South, is proud to announce its annual M. E. Bradford Dissertation Prize. The award recognizes the best dissertation focused on the South, any time period and any discipline. The prize carries a $1,000 award. The winner will discuss his/her work as part of the Bradford panel during the Society’s annual meeting. Attendance at the July 25-27, 2019 meeting in Milledgeville, Georgia is mandatory for receipt of the prize.
Eligible dissertations will have been completed and defended in the 2018 calendar year and must be written in English. Self-nominations accepted. Please submit a letter of application, CV, dissertation abstract, and electronic copy of the dissertation by April 1, 2019 to Dr. Matthew A.
