2019 Wilson Special Collections Library Doctoral Fellowship Program

Wilson Library invites fellowship applications from advanced graduate students studying the American South. Two types of award are available: an exploratory one-month Pre-Dissertation Prospectus Fellowship ($2,500) and a one- to three-month Dissertation Research Fellowship ($3,500 per month).  The application period closes on February 15, 2019.

Further details about this fellowship program, applicant eligibility, and the application process can be found on our Doctoral Fellowship page.

2019 Summer Visiting Research Fellowships

Wilson Library invites applications for up to ten short-term summer research fellowships to support the intensive, innovative, and impactful research use of its collections.

Although most of our summer visiting awards support research on North Carolina and the American South, we are pleased to offer two additional opportunities this year:

For meaningful research engagement with the Rare Book Collection, in the amount of $1,250:

  • The Marjorie Bond Library Fund.

For the scholarly use of Wilson Library’s rich audiovisual collections, in the amount of $2,500:

  • The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation supports the Wilson Special Collections Library Audiovisual Research Fellowship.

Further details about this fellowship program, other funded research topics, applicant eligibility, and the application process can be found on our Summer Visiting Research Fellowship page.
