Within the framework of a study entitled "Researchers Remember" we are looking for researchers in all fields (not necessarily Holocaust related research) whose parents are/were Holocaust survivors. The study will examine the connection of the choice to be an academic researcher and having a "Second Generation" background.

We define "Second Generation" as anyone whose parents (either or both) experienced life under a Nazi regime, whether during the war (ghetto, camp, hiding, false papers, etc.) or during the pre-war Nazi era (1933-1939) in one of the countries under Nazi domination, and who was born after the war ended. That also includes those born in liberated Eastern Europe after the Nazi defeat there (1944-early 1945) but before the end of the war in the west.

At this point participation in the study involves filling out a very short questionnaire.

We invite anyone interested in participating to write to me at baumelj@gmail.com and thank them in advance. Please feel free to write me with any questions regarding the research.
