The Western History Association Graduate Student Caucus will be offering a session entitled, “Prepping for the Interview: Condensed Job Talk Presentations” at the 2019 WHA Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. This session focuses on giving candidates an opportunity to succinctly describe their research and why it matters. We are seeking 5-6 doctoral candidates to participate.

Doctoral candidates are required to give a five-minute presentation. Professors will provide feedback on how each participant could improve their delivery and ask questions about the significance of the participants' research.

The session will act as preparation for AHA (or similar) and on-campus interviews. Please send a 200 word abstract (detailing your proposed job talk - research, etc) and a bio to use for introductions (bio: Name, year, institution, dissertation title, research interests, etc) to whagsc@gmail.com

We would like to have a finalized list of participants by February 1, 2019.
