Call for Abstracts and Proposals
Papers, Research-in-Progress and Panels
We are accepting abstracts (up to 500 words) for papers and panel sessions (up to 1,000 words) on all aspects of the historical relationship between media and civil rights. Abstracts for papers and research-in-progress must include a title, brief description of the research, and some primary sources. Panel proposals must include a title, brief description of the panel and panelists.
The biennial Media & Civil Rights History Symposium welcomes scholars from various disciplines and approaches that address the vital relationship between civil rights and public communication from local/national/transnational contexts, perspectives and periods. The symposium, which concludes with the Farrar Award in Media & Civil Rights History presentation, will take place in conjunction with the AEJMC Southeast Colloquium.
