The Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington at Mount Vernon is now accepting applications for our 2019-20 Fellows program. One-month, three-month, and six-month awards are available to doctoral candidates, recent PhDs, and mid-career and senior scholars as well as independent researchers with relevant topics.

Awards include a generous monthly stipend, travel reimbursement, housing on the Mount Vernon estate, and access to the resources of the Washington Library. These fellowships support the growing community of scholars whose research focuses on George Washington, colonial America, the Revolutionary era, the early American republic, and the eighteenth-century Atlantic world.

Please visit our website to learn more about the fellowship, previous research projects, and the collections, databases, and archival materials available at the Washington Library. Applications must be received by December 31, 2018.
